The CRD Integrated Water Services will be conducting upgrades to the Rocky Point System over the next year which may impact traffic at the time works are being completed. The Rocky Point Systems Upgrade Project includes three locations with the scope and general schedule as follows:
1. Rocky Point Pump Station and Watermain
The Rocky Point pump station and watermain includes the replacement of the existing Rocky Point Pump Station at the intersection of Rocky Point Road and Lombard Drive and replacement of 560 m of watermain from the pump station up Rocky Point Road to Windover Terrace. The Rocky Point Pump Station is a completely new station to be built alongside the existing operating pump station.
Project schedule for the Rocky Point Pump Station is 1 year commencing middle of November 2021.
Project schedule for the Rocky Point Watermain to Windover Terrace is 5 months commencing March 2022.
2. Deer Park Reservoir and Pump Station
Deer Park reservoir site improvements include a new bolted steel reservoir and a new chlorine analyzer/seismic valve building at 4945 Deer Park Trail. At the intersection of Liberty Drive and Deer Park Trail the existing water pump station that feeds the Deer Park Reservoir will have an addition to the existing building that will house new water piping.
Project schedule for the Deer Park Reservoir and Pump Station is 1 year commencing the middle of November 2021.
3. Rocky Point Road Watermain to Canadian Forces Ammunition Depot Rocky Point
Scope of work includes the installation of 3.6 km of watermain predominantly on DND property starting at the intersection of East Sooke Road and travelling down Rocky Point Road to the CFAD Rocky Point main gatehouse.
An in-ground meter and backflow chamber will be constructed at the property line of the DND and District of Metchosin on Rocky Point Road.
Project schedule for the CFAD Rocky Point Watermain is 12 months commencing end of November 2021.
